As of January 31, 2015 Sunnyside Nursery is Closed...
A message from Tom Perry:
To the Many Friends of Sunnyside Nursery-
It is with a great mix of emotions that we announce the closing of Sunnyside Nursery as of January 31, 2015. After enjoying seventy-five years of community support from our neighbors in San Anselmo and the Ross Valley of Marin, it is time to close this chapter.
Sunnyside has been very good to three generations of the Perry family and hundreds of staff members throughout the years, but now it is time to look ahead to the future. In the absence of a likely family member to carry on, we have been searching for over a year for a way to continue the business.
We are very pleased and excited to announce that we have found a strong, reputable group to continue this valued nursery operation for the community and at the same time offer our excellent and loyal staff the best chance to continue on in their chosen profession.
Armstrong Garden Centers will take on the operation of a nursery at this site, providing the resources to make necessary improvements and the vision to evolve with the changing industry. Armstrong is a 125 year-old company committed to serving community needs with a track record of sensitivity to the environment. It is an employee-owned company and will offer a full assortment of plants, garden solutions, patio furniture, pottery and full service landscape services from design to installation. Armstrong Garden Centers have agreed to honor all outstanding gift certificates.
No doubt, this announcement will come as a surprise to some, but those familiar with the pressures experienced by small businesses during the past decade, will understand the decision. I will be happy to answer any questions from our many Sunnyside friends, as best I can, and look forward to making the transition to this new enterprise as smooth as possible.
For myself, I can never repay the many kindnesses shown to us over the years nor forget the friendships I have made.
Thomas R. Perry
President, Sunnyside Nursery

Since 1948, Sunnyside Nursery has operated a growing grounds facility at 3000 Sir Francis Drake Blvd - 1.5 mils west of downtown Fairfax.
Regretfully, the yard will be closing at the end of November 2014, consolidating operations with our retail store in San Anselmo. We greatly appreciate all the patronage, friendships and good time we have shared with so many people over the years at our Summer and Fall Growing Grounds Sales. We hope to see you soon at our San Anslemo nursery!
Many thanks, Tom...
